Macclesfield Symphony Orchestra is getting ready to present a traditional programme of music from Italy this March.
Macclesfield Symphony Orchestra (formerly known as KEMS Orchestra), is heading into its 67th season, and last year hosted a range of concerts - and even held a special concert dedicated to one of the musicians who has been performing with the group for 50 years.
The upcoming concert will feature Verdi's 'Force of Destiny', 'Italian Serenade in G Major' by Wolf, Mendelssohn's 'Symphony No. 4 (Italian), and 'Aus Italien (from Italy) Op. 26' by Strauss.
The evening will be conducted by Anthony Houghton, who has been leading the group since to 2001-2 season. The event will take place in Macclesfield's nearby town of Congleton.
Tickets are £15 for adults and free for under 18s. They are available from the Macclesfield Visitor Information Centre, as well as online.
The event takes place at Congleton Town Hall, High Street, Congleton CW12 1BN on 3 March 2024 from 4pm.
