A Macclesfield businesswoman has just celebrated 15 years of her Macclesfield yoga business, supporting women across the community.

Saffron Harrison, who lives in Macclesfield and is a mum-of-three, trades under the name Saffron's Yoga.

Her company, which provides more than just yoga classes, has over 1000 followers on social media.

Saffron's Yoga has gone on to support hundreds of women across the area through pregnancy yoga, baby yoga, hypnobirthing, goddess retreat days, and being part of the Macclesfield Maternity Voices, helping improve maternity services in the local community.

Saffron's experience stems from childhood, with her own mother teaching regular yoga classes, and her father practising and teaching Buddhist meditation, it was always a path Saffron felt drawn to.

"My parents really inspired me to become a qualified yoga teacher, as I started covering my mum's classes when I was 17," said Saffron.

"When I had my daughter, Penelope, I felt there was a lack of support.

"The midwives are amazing but no one tells you what to expect when you are pregnant, or what to do with a baby.

"I felt like other mums knew something I didn't. I had no idea what I was doing.

"I never want anyone to feel like that, so I have spent years building my knowledge and experience to be then able to educate women in my community, whether that's during pregnancy or postnatally and that's my motivation for the support I give women every day."

"Pregnancy yoga and hypnobirthing have such a powerful impact on the body and mind, whilst baby yoga also allows for a unique bonding experience between mother and child, it's something I enjoy with my youngest son Felix, most days!".

Now in its 15th year of business, Saffron hosts regular sell-out Goddess retreat days for local women, to help support their physical and mental wellbeing.

Saffron commented: "Reaching 15 years is such a milestone, I've met so many incredible women during my business journey and supporting them has been an honour," added Saffron.

"I recognise how busy our lifestyles have become and often mums, in particular, put themselves last on the list, so my retreat days are an opportunity for local women to come along and take a break from daily life".

"I'm excited for the future of my business and to continue to support the women across my community!"

Saffron provides pregnancy yoga classes every Tuesday at 5.30-7pm at Substation in Hurdsfield.

Baby yoga takes place every Thursday 10.30-11.30am and 12-1pm, also at Substation, where there is an on-site coffee shop you can hang out at after class.

Saffron also provides classes via an online studio.
