Despite not being over yet, December saw two of our most read stories of the year.

And first up at number ten we have this piece from the second week of December, when this one-of-a-kind new restaurant on Chestergate's west side opened.

Offering Italian and Brazilian-style tapas, Piccante replaces the previous restaurant inside The Copper Room once occupied by Macclesfield industrialist Charles Roe.

The restauranteurs already run a successful restaurant in Prestbury called The Lilac Tree.

No 9 Macclesfield bath bomb business goes viral on TikTok

Multiple stories about Macclesfield TikTokkers did well this year, but none better than this one.

In ninth for 2022 we have BubbleBeez, the story of a Macclesfield mum who couldn't find any bath bombs that worked for her, so she made her own.

She now has a devoted hive of followers, who help propelled this as one of the most read stories of the year.

Despite being from the summer, the story benefitted from a boost in December, likely as people bought Christmas presents for their loved ones.
