A business that Designs and Constructs (Clean Rooms, Labs and other facilities) designated to the development of manufacturing of medicine and technologies, who offers their services to well-known pharmaceutical companies who you would of Definity heard of before!
The role is based at their modern, well kitted office in Cheshire which is known as a great place to work. They work with some of the best, and well-known pharmaceutical giants in major projects worth millions of pounds. The Role
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with our experienced QS team to provide financial and contractual management of projects. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop your skills, and work towards professional accreditation (e.g., RICS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tenders.
- Supporting the preparation of bills of quantities (BoQ) and procurement schedules.
- Helping to monitor project costs and progress against budgets.
- Assisting in valuing completed works and arranging payments to contractors and subcontractors.
- Participating in risk assessments and value engineering exercises.
- Maintaining accurate records of project financials and contract administration.
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficient in using relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, AutoCAD, or QS-specific tools).
- Eagerness to learn and develop in a professional environment.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
Desirable:
- Internship or placement experience in construction, engineering, or related industries.
- Knowledge of contracts such as NEC, JCT, or FIDIC.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or expected completion of such a degree).
