Position Overview:

We are seeking a part-time graphic designer to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, a strong understanding of visual communication principles, and proficiency in industry-standard design software.

Nub News is a ground-breaking online local newspaper for towns across the United Kingdom. Our mission is to put "your town in your pocket" - We aim to make local news easily accessible on all devices, particularly mobile, without intrusive pop-up advertising, enforced surveys or clickbait. We will ensure that our content remains truly local. Providing local news, community news, what's on, local business listings, classifieds, jobs, property and obituaries - all the staples of a good local newspaper.

Responsibilities:

Work with the sale and business development team to create visually engaging designs that align and brand guidelines.

Create compelling graphics for various marketing materials, including but not limited to, banner, marketing presentations, social media content, and presentations.

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure designs remain fresh, innovative, and relevant.

Requirements:

1+ year of professional experience in graphic design.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software.

Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects and styles.

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with motion graphics and video editing software.

Knowledge of web design principles.

Familiarity with print production processes.
