The community of Bollington are rallying together to show their support for a couple, left hospitalised from a recent car accident.

Janine Mitchell and Daniel 'Brady' Bradley were involved in a car crash late last month.

In support, the pub the couple frequents set up a crowdfunder to help them on their recovery.

The Dog and Partridge, of Palmerston Street, started a GoFundMe with an initial target of just £250.

£4,235 has been fundraised for the couple, with 87 people donating.

Crowdfunder organiser Lili Miller said: "As some may be aware, Janine and Brady have been in a motor vehicle accident and are currently recovering in hospital."

"Both have extensive injuries and are looking at a long road to recovery. We are setting this up in the hopes to help with the financial impact this will have on them. Every donation will help and hopefully relieve them of a little stress. All help will be greatly appreciated."

A fundraiser was also held at the Bollington pub they are regulars at.

In addition to this, the Dog and Partridge held a quiz and raffle on Sunday 5th May raising £1240 on the night, which has paid all Janine's bills and rent this month.

All the prizes were donated by most of the local businesses in Bollington.

Macclesfield Nub News reached out to Brady, who was able to type responses to questions via email.

"We were on our way to Sherwood Forest for the weekend for Janine's 50th, when we were in a head on collision with a vehicle near to Matlock," recalled Brady.

"As a result we were airlifted to Stoke Royal Hospital, where we have been since.

"Janine has severe internal Injuries which resulted in having a double stroke, which she is recovering from slowly.

"I suffered from a broken back and multiple fractures to the pelvis, left clavicle, left foot, ribs and sternum."

Janine has lived in Bollington for over 15 years, whereas Brady has lived here for 18 months, but he lived in Macclesfield before that.

Janine works a self employed cleaner covering Bollington and surrounding areas. Brady is a vehicle mechanic in Bollington at Broadheads MOT Garage.

Brady is grateful for the support of his fellow Bollingtonians.

"Thank you, i just can't believe the support and generosity of people," he said in response to the crowdfunder.

"As well as everyone with offers of help. It's genuinely overwhelming."
