Potterheads of Macclesfield! Unique pieces of Harry Potter merchandise signed by famous faces from the franchise are going up for sale in our town.

A signed copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone the book, even features the signatures of author JK Rowling.

Fourth book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will also go under the hammer, with a sea of signatures from the film's actors

Harry Potter himself has even signed it, which will be a big reason why Macclesfield auctioneers Adam Partridge have set a maximum total estimate of £3000 on the sale price.

The books - with some signed by Daniel Radcliffe - was found by an employee of the Macclesfield auction house during a trip to Devon.

When Adam Partridge employee Chris Surfleet was asked to visit a client in Torquay with some items to sell, he certainly didn't expect to come across a fabulous collection of Harry Potter books.

The Senior Valuer, who discovered the magical find, had this to say about the item.

"The collection feature as part of the specialist book section being offered within our August 3rd-5th auction, and estimates range from £500 to £3000," said Chris.

"The series of wizarding wonders penned by J K Rowling are among the most read books on the planet, and with the incredible success of the film franchise, the demand for items associated with Harry Potter show no signs of waning.

"This collection of eight first editions including Deluxe issues are always in demand, but the remarkable factor with this collection is that every book is signed.

"Some carry the signature of J K Rowling whilst one is signed by both Daniel Radcliffe and Gary Oldman, and the Goblet Of Fire carries multiple autographs of the stella cast from the film.

"Such rarities are scarce to see in single volumes, but when Chris saw the collection in front of him he couldn't believe his eyes.

"It was incredible to see such a unique collection of books, and when I opened the title pages to discover the signatures, I was truly spellbound!".

Other famous signatures on the signed novels include the actors who played Gryffindor's George and Ginny.

The Harry Potter books ran from 1997 to 2007. The mainline film series lasted from 2001 to 2011.

But the film series still continues today with spin-offs, and still captivates youth to this day.

Radcliffe, now 32, with his Potter days long behind him, will next star in a film based on the life of musician Weird Al Yankovic.

The Harry Potter franchise is the tenth highest grossing media franchise of all time, so with the merchandise expected to sell for no more than £3000, this Macclesfield opportunity is amazing value.

The catalogue for the sale date is not currently available to view, but please head to the auctioneers website if you are checking this article in the days after publication.
