A public appeal has been launched for a west Macclesfield cat missing for almost a week.

Salem has been missing since Monday 3rd of July.

The male black cat is from the Bollinbrook area in Macclesfield

He is usually based on Abbots Close, but residents from the surrounding area are encouraged to keep an eye out.

Salem's owner said: "It is quite common for him to wander further, he is familiar with areas like Park Mount drive, Thornton Square and Ryles Park road."

"So regardless of your location please keep an eye out as he could be anywhere in Macclesfield at this point.

"He is a young, black, male cat. He is very friendly and confident, will walk up to anybody for attention.

"He was wearing a blue collar (might have fallen off) and can be recognised by a missing fang.

"He is microchipped and neutered. All local vets have also been notified.

"Any updates and checking your sheds, garages would be much appreciated as he is very much missed at home.
