The speaker is Dr Sunday Ekpo, a Senior Lecturer in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Manchester Metropolitan University.

In the beginning, the Earth was created green. With passing generations, our Earth's active stakeholders' activities have decolourised our Earth to its present colour. Several generations of technological innovations have attempted reversing the processes causing the Earth to lose its virgin colour. All digitisation, digitalisation and internet of things devices generate carbon footprints.

The talk will explore the past, present and future of our Earth and the modern attempts to restore the green Earth and rebuild a sustainable green environment for all.

Dr Ekpo will present our groundbreaking industry-linked research works in net zero-enabled passive electronics and ultra-low power home appliances.
