Macclesfield and District Lions seek prizes for month-long charity raffle

A group of volunteers in Macclesfield could raise thousands of pounds to help find a cure for brain tumours.
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
The charity Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this! They are a national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours through campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK.
Macclesfield and District Lions are aiming to raise a minimum of £1500 to help Brain Tumour Research. We are looking to run a daily raffle throughout March which is Brain Tumour Awareness Month.

With March 2024 having 31 days, they will need as many items to raffle off. So have launched an appeal today to the community.
In a statement the local Lions said: "We need the support of 31 local businesses who would be able to donate a prize. We hope to sell at least 250 draw cards for a minimum donation of £5."
"Each card will be entered into the daily draw, (a card can only be drawn once).
"The name of each business with their prize will appear on the front of the card with their details on the reverse. We have only begun to plan the event and its success will depend on the response from local businesses.

"If you can help in any way with a prize or require more information, please contact us via our Facebook page."
