An independent shop in Macclesfield have relocated just down the road from their previous store

Browns Antiques and Salvage have moved in at 29 Park Lane, where Pin Up and Ink used to be.

The shop is ran by Debbie and Andrew Brown, who have also hired their family members to work there.

They were previously located one minute away on new Park Lane, and have now moved to what is colloquially known as 'old' Park Lane.

Macclesfield Nub News met up with Debbie for a chat about the new site.

"The move was down to pure size that's all", she said.

"We were running out of space. We have now got three rooms where you can come and view what we have to offer.

"We've been so much more busy, thank you to the Macclesfield community for their support."

A big addition is a new retro area. The shop location, also feels fitting opposite The Silk Museum and Paradise Mill, given both them and Browns are brands that love celebrating heritage.

Debbie's partner Andrew has been into restoring old things into new for the past 20 years. He also runs a gardening business in Macclesfield, and he got more and more interested in his antiques work during every winter.

Debbie also brings business acumen, as she runs a successful hairdressers on Macclesfield called Brown Street Barbers.

However, when that had to temporarily close during lockdown, that was when Debbie's passion for antiques really started to propel. The pair now split their time between their own businesses, and their shared one with Browns Antiques and Salvage.

"We're a family business. My sister, nieces, brother-in-law and daughters all help out", added Debbie.

"My son does deliveries as well.

"Thank you to Macclesfield for accepting us and being patient with us whilst we moved
