An event will be held at Sparrow Park in Macclesfield this weekend.

The event organisers said: "Let Women Speak is a grassroots women's rights organisation concerned with elevating women's voices, which we feel is especially pertinent now there is a looming general election in which women's rights do not seem to be a priority for many candidates, locally and nationally."

"We provide a safe space for women to come and talk about transgender ideology and how they have been impacted by it in their personal and professional lives. We recognise that this is a sensitive topic and we strive to ensure truth, respect and fairness in our events."

"This will be our first event in Macclesfield - in all of Cheshire in fact - so it is an opportunity for women of all ages and backgrounds to have their say about issue affecting them locally.

"We welcome all adult human females to come and take part, enjoy the atmosphere or just listen to some stories and find out what our campaign is all about. There'll be music entertainment to open and close the event, and stewards available to help with any questions or problems.

"The event will take place on Sunday 2nd June in Sparrow Park in Macclesfield (behind St Michael's church in the town centre) and will run from 1-3pm.
