Macclesfield Parish Scout and Guide Group have been busy during lockdown with providing young people with challenges to keep busy during lockdown and virtual meetings to keep them connecting.

Camping out in the back yard, building dens in the house, learning about photography, and taking part in virtual white water rafting have been some of the highlights.

As well as supporting young people, adults in the group were also part of a team volunteering to deliver medicines to vulnerable adults shielding from Covid19 in Macclesfield.

Now the group needs support from our community itself.

The lockdown has impacted on many fundraising activities, and issues with the hut roof at their headquarters on Station Street have become in critical need of repair.

The group are also needing to upgrade their disability access to the building to ensure the group remains welcoming, inclusive and safe for everyone.

£5000 is needed to move this essential work forward so that young people can benefit from the building again once social distancing rules allow.

Buy a brick!

The group are running a Go Fund Me page, where you can have your name immortalised on their "brick wall of fame" for any donation £10 or over.

The finished wall will be mounted in the hall for everyone to see. Any donation however small is welcomed though to continue this important work.

To support the group with this critical work, please visit their Go Fund Me page
