Climate-optimism movie '2040' to be shown in Macclesfield
An uplifting Australian film about how we can optimistically tackle the climate crisis is to be shown in Macclesfield.
2040, shows inspiring new technologies that could help reverse or lessen the impact of climate change, from rooftop solar power to carbon sequestration.
The 92 minute movie will be screened at Cinemac on July 12, 7:30pm.
The event will be hosted in association with Cinemac's neighbours Scoop and Scales.
Matthew Todd, of Scoop and Scales said: "Following our showing of the film The Oil Machine a couple of months ago we are showing another eco film, 2040."
"This is an uplifting film by Award-winning director Damon Gameau who embarks on a journey to explore what the future could look like by the year 2040 if we simply embraced the best solutions already available to us to improve our planet and shifted them rapidly into the mainstream.
"We have had to pay a licence for this film so are asking for a minimum donation of £5 per ticket but please do speak to us if this will be prohibitive. Matt will host an optional discussion afterwards. We hope you can join us to allow us to continue to show eco films at Cinemac."
You can reserve a slot now for free, and if you are able, pay £5 on the door.
