Get your spook on Macclesfield! The Halloween weekend is here.

Here are three great events you can do this weekend in Macclesfield.

Don't forget, you can promote an upcoming event in our town on the Macclesfield Nub News events section.

Here's what's on this weekend in Macclesfield.

  1. Treacle Market

It goes without saying this one - but the Treacle Market is the greatest thing to ever happen to Macclesfield - even better than Macclesfield Nub News! (Dare we say)

  1. Proper Sound Opening

With the addition of the Picturedrome and The Copper Room in recent years, along with the possibility of a bar owned by a Premier League footballer, Chestergate is fast-emerging as the coolest street in town.

And it will get even cooler, with the opening of Proper Sound in Macclesfield this weekend.

The new music store in Macclesfield is a large space for audio apparel and art.

There will also be hard and soft drinks, as well as treats to eat.

The tribute to records, rock and Macc will open on Sunday. It is located on 8 Chestergate.

If you fancy something without a pumpkin in sight, Proper Sound will be open from 10am.

Macclesfield Nub News will be revealing more about the store in a preview article this weekend. But you can currently read more here.

  1. Halloween Round-up

And of course there is a huge series of Halloween events for this weekend. Here's a few of the best in Macclesfield.

If you want to celebrate the season while it is still light, head over to Tegg's Nose Country Park. They're hosting a Halloween Trail.

The Macclesfield beauty spot will host a spooky trail for kids to connect with nature in their Halloween garb.

The hunt to find all the scary guests at the Buxton Old Road greenspace involves just a 50p cost for a map.

And you can get that 50p back. As each map purchased entitles you to a 50p discount off one hot drink from Tegg's Nose Tea Room following completion of the trail.

You can visit between now and November 7, even after Halloween, if you want to visit when it is less busy.

Elsewhere if you want an event on Halloween for your kids without too much of the Americanisation trend of eating sweets, an event in Tytherington could be perfect.

The Macclesfield Light Party 2021 with Hope in North East Cheshire will be held at the Tytherington Family Worship Church. All primary school kids aged are welcome, doors will open at 5:15.

The Sandwich Drive religious building will host a family fun day on Halloween night, as a great thing to do before or after Sunday's trick-or-treating. And a great way to work off those sugary treats snacks.

The event organisers said: "Come dressed as a candle, lightbulb or any other light source. Or if costumes aren't for you then wear the brightest clothes you've got.

"We've got a jam-packed evening with Songs, games, sweets, craft, stories and an extra messy surprise!"

There will also be food and more surprises in this Macclesfield festival of light.

Tickets are free, but the church would love it if you could book, so they know how much food to cook. Please click here to secure your families slot.

There is also a scare maze at Macclesfield RUFC on Priory Lane, for over 14s only.

There will even be local references to mills and the priory, as the trailer teases.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 6:30pm-9:30pm, the The Priory Park Horror will take place.

Brought to you in association with Macclesfield's theatre group MADS, it is £10 a ticket and you can enjoy the outdoor beer garden before or after your fright.

You can book your slot here... if you dare.

And there is even a Halloween themed quiz night on Park Green.

Mandarina Bar & Kitchen will be offering a £100 prize to the winners.

There is also a Halloween bingo, and prizes for the best fancy dress.

The quiz is free to enter, but booking is advised to guarantee a table.

You can contact the 4 Park Green business via this link.

They'll even be horror-themed cocktails. The quiz is from 6pm-8pm.
