Cheshire East Council has issued nearly £100,000 worth of fines in relation to littering, dog fouling and fly tipping in the year up to the end of March.
It has also been revealed that in the same period 302 cases were referred for prosecution due to the non-payment of fines out of a total 1,187 which were issued.

The operator of Macclesfield Leisure Centre has recently received a 4.8 out of 5 star rating for cleanliness and hygiene in their gyms and group fitness classes since reopening 11 of their Leisure Centres in Cheshire East this summer.
The customer survey released in August had over 1150 respondents providing feedback on cleanliness and hygiene whilst also commenting on how safe they felt visiting an Everybody leisure centre and how the charity was remaining covid-secure.

Olympic gold medal cyclist Sir Chris Hoy MBE is to officially the new premises of the Macclesfield Samaritans branch next month.
The move to the King Edward Street premises will mark a new chapter for the charity which has operated in the town since 1963 with a current team of over 90 volunteers who respond to over 20,000 calls and emails a year as well as facilitating other programs.

Macclesfield residents are being warned about a new wave of online scams where fraudsters hack into Facebook accounts in a bid to steal money from family and friends.
The sophisticated scam involves a hacker gaining access to an existing Facebook Messenger account who then message friends and family asking them to receive cash after an item has been sold on eBay.

Cheshire East Council has been allocated with £326,292.53 to use to support groups who are helping people who are struggling to afford food and other essentials due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The funding comes from a £63 million pot of emergency assistance from the government to be distributed to local authorities in England.
