Here's some of the best events going on in Macclesfield for the week commencing April 7.

1. Live Comedy

Macclesfield's monthly stand-up night returns to Macclesfield Rugby Club this Friday.

Comedians are MC Jonathan Mayor, Gav Webster who has been on all major UK TV networks and Comedy Central, across a 29 year comedy career. Webster is endorsed by Ross Noble.

Surreal comedy performer and Noel Fielding acquaintance Joey Page, and 'incredibly dry' comic Jonny Brook are also on the bill at the Priory Lane venue.

1. Album Launch

Macclesfield pianist Jack Mitchell Smith will launch an album this weekend, which features his compositions and guest appearances from Macclesfield musicians.

The Head Over Heels concert will take place at MADS Little Theatre on Saturday night.

1. Plant Event

Capesthorne Hall are hosting a Plant Hunters' Fair this Sunday until 5pm.

It will be the perfect chance to mingle with fellow green-thumbed Maxonians, and bolster your garden with new garden items to purchase.

Entry to the Plant Fair and Gardens at the special half price rate of just £3.50! (Children 5-16 years old: £1.50).

Dogs are welcome. And parking is free.

1. Macclesfield Acoustic

Local beer, delicious pizza and great music. Macclesfield acoustic musician Charlotte Day will play 73 and Pizza this Sunday.

They will have have a lunchtime offer 12-4pm; any 12' pizza and soft drink for £9.50. The family-friendly venue can be contacted on 01625 403988.
