Tesco in Macclesfield is on the hunt for recruits to fill five positions that have recently opened up due to the increasing demand for online shopping during the lockdown.

The company said in the advert: "With the COVID-19 situation evolving every day, and unprecedented high demand, we urgently need to recruit extra temporary in-store colleagues. Working in our stores, you'll play a key role in keeping our shelves stocked, helping our customers get what they need during this challenging time."

Macclesfield GP practices have signed up for crucial national research to protect people from Coronavirus (COVID-19) – and they are urging patients to get involved.

The study – one of three public health research studies prioritised by the Department of Health and Social Care – will enable researchers to evaluate treatments to prevent the progression of COVID-19 in older people.

It's the second week of Foster Care Fortnight and Cheshire East Council is stepping up its celebration of the annual event and reminding people of the ongoing need to recruit foster carers.
